About La Vagabonde
Drawing from timeless French elegance and our Fauna & Flora, La Vagabonde was founded by Lauren Salas Schumann.
At its essence, La Vagabonde embodies a love and devotion to one of the oldest and noblest fiber, linen. Every leftover fabric and thread are repurposed to keep creating more pieces until all materials have been transmuted into their final form. This intricate process allows us to minimize waste and embrace the versatility linen can offer.
La Vagabonde is a sustainable handmade textile studio working with 100% French linen fibers and textiles. Our linen is ecologically grown and produced in Northern France and the garments are handmade in Florida & Mexico. Every piece we make is chemical & plastic free and biodegradable (including our sewing thread!).
Our mission is to create new realities blending chic sophistication with comfort and allowing each garment to gracefully flow alongside your body. Rooted in tradition, connected to the Earth, and endlessly searching for elevated comfort, our multi-layered pieces effortlessly mix and match, allowing you to create a perennial wardrobe of handmade essentials, whether you wish to wear around your home or out and about in the wild.
In addition to procuring uniquely handmade quality garments with a deep social and ecological commitment, we are paying it forward with part of our proceeds being redirected towards the preservation, restoration, & evolution of our planet and its inhabitants.
Our handcrafted, limited creations are released in small batches each month and to order. This allows us to ensure the highest care and respect towards the flax plant, their growers, the artisans, the Earth, and You.
Fait avec Amour,
La Vagabonde
